Summary
This programme is designed for those who wish to extend their undergraduate degree with highly specialised knowledge in sport and exercise science, rehabilitation, and movement related professions. It is most suited to those who are wanting to continue onto a Doctoral programme or into higher level positions in the workforce.
Our postgraduate sports programmes focus on applied learning, are strongly industry-focused, and supported by a team of highly-skilled academic staff. Students will get to apply their learning in our purpose-built facilities.
Students will will study at Wintec’s Centre for Sport Science & Human Performance. The laboratories are fully equipped and accredited with Sport Science New Zealand and are amongst New Zealand's best sport science facilities. Students will have access to ‘state of the art’ sport testing and consulting, as used by national and international athletes.

Career/further opportunities
The Master of Science (Human Performance Science) may lead to employment as a tertiary teacher, research and sport consultant, or an individual and team sport trainer and conditioner.
Upon completion of this programme further tertiary study at Doctorate level can be undertaken. This programme also provides a pathway into further study in dietetics or physiotherapy.

You'll require between $20,000 and $25,000 a year ($380–480 per week) for housing/rent, food, transportation, phone bills, internet usage, and entertainment, in addition to your tuition and insurance fees. The average living expense will be the same for everyone, regardless of their tuition or course price. Please keep in mind that these are only suggestions; the Immigration New Zealand requirement is $15,000 per year including return travel or an additional $2,000.
